These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Cassio Lemos, the developer of Pick Up: Learn Phrasal Verbs ("the app", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Pick Up is a phrasal-verb learning app. The app is free to use. It does not currently offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising. If that changes in the future, this page will be updated before any such feature is enabled.
You can use the app fully without creating an account. If you choose to join the optional weekly leaderboard tournament, you create an account with an email address and password, and you choose a public alias. You are responsible for:
Your chosen alias is permanent once set and cannot be changed later. See the Privacy Policy for what account data is collected and how it's used.
When using the tournament or leaderboard features, you agree not to:
We may suspend or delete an account that violates these rules.
The app, including its design, content, phrasal-verb material, and code, is owned by the developer or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You're granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own learning purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the app except as permitted by the app store terms you downloaded it under or by applicable law.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Learning content is provided for educational purposes and we don't guarantee any specific learning outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
The app uses Firebase (Google Cloud) for optional account authentication and the tournament leaderboard. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.
You can stop using the app and delete your tournament account at any time from Settings, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
If these Terms change, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless a different law is required by the app store or jurisdiction through which you obtained the app.
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
If you downloaded the app from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
